Sussex Funeral Services will assist you with the appropriate funeral arrangements in Jevington, when it comes to the death of a loved one. We have a wide range of choices from the more straightforward ‘no hassle’ choices to our conventional funeral services. We aim to fulfill your needs.
Our ‘No-Fuss’ Funerals and ‘Direct Cremation’ or Burial’ options differ from the traditional funeral option in a significant way. These simple options give you the choice of later holding a memorial or a special ceremony.
Direct cremation is not just a simple ceremony but it can also be private and worry-free financially. For many people it is more affordable. We still perform to the highest standards; we also guarantee that your loved one’s dignity will be upheld and we are work in the most respectful manner. Our company’s philosophy is as ‘Caring, Compassion and Choice’
Our ‘direct cremation’ option will be more favourable to those who worry about affordability or wish to have a smaller and more private funeral arrangement.
Throughout , our sensitive staff will support you while upholding dignity and discretion. Direct cremation means a simple service that includes us taking your loved one from wherever they died, bringing them back to our premises and keeping them safe until the day they are cremated. On that day we simply convey them, in a suitable coffin, to the crematorium, of our choice, which is usually Woodvale Crematorium, in Brighton. The cremation then takes place on that day, with the remains being cremated and usually ready to collect by the next working day.
Such a modest departure is appropriate to those who have elected to be cremated without service, by their own choice and either recorded in will or dying wishes, or who may have communicated it orally to their loved ones, perhaps after the donation of their body organs. This may be that, for financial reasons, direct cremation is the best option, because the person who died did not prepare financially for his own death or, perhaps, the person left to manage is not in a position to be able to pay for the regular service. It may be that the deceased person did not have any relatives or friends who outlived them , or be able to attend due to distance in this case, it will be inappropriate to provide a conventional service when direct cremation would seem more fitting.
From £799 including disbursements (Cremation Fee plus Doctor Fee where applicable) – this selection includes the following:
Sure, there is – our ‘Direct Burial’ is also called the Direct to Graveside’ service. A similar service, the dead is taken to a graveyard and buried, without a service, rather than being taken to the crematorium.
Burial selection starts from Price £1,000 including disbursements (burial plot and interment fee) – This option comes with the following:
The concept of direct cremation or burial was with little to no hassle with all sides, with the intention of keeping things to a minimum and, in particular, of keeping costs to a minimum. We notice that very few people even like to view. Possibly only 1 in 10 would like to see their loved one.
In that situation, we can provide personal care for your loved one for an extra fee, i.e. washing and dressing the body either in their own clothing or in sheets of calico cotton (we tend not to embalm or use unnecessarily intrusive procedures unless we are requested to do so by law or formal request).
Getting back to the idea of little or No Fuss for both parties, and again, with a view to keeping things to a minimum, including costs, we usually ask for clients to collect the ashes themselves from the crematorium. Alternatively, they might choose to scatter ashes in the crematorium remembrance garden. There is the choice that the ashes can be shipped to your door at an extra cost. There are a number of options available when it comes to urns.
We typically suggest to clients to search for urns on the Internet as there are usually lots of choices to choose from, and with our own particular tastes, we find that picking an urn is a more personal thing to do, and as there is usually no rush to do so, you can do all this in your time from the comfort of your own home.
Just give us a call.
Usually, we would do that all over the phone, followed by email – we can also do a video conference with you, and if necessary, we might discuss meeting you personally, in your own house. We won’t do this for everybody, so can consider that if you’re having trouble getting out and about your own house. But you can call us first let’s talk about your requirements.
Our caring and responsible approach to the organisation of funerals or cremations is handled directly by our funeral director, Philip, and his wife Sallie, who all aim to support you in your time of need with a package that fits your wishes. Our clients’ comments are of much importance to us.
We’d like to share them with you.
“Our very beloved family friend passed away in Hove on February 21. As we live in the north of England, we went online to look for a credible funeral director in Hove. We chose Phillip of Sussex Funeral Services.
By the time we arrived in Hove, all the preparations for the burial had been done to our satisfaction, and all other support we wanted was of a very high quality. On a really sad day, you assisted us, allowing us time to consider and remember a loved one, you handled our mother with great reverence and integrity. – K. Sherlock.
